SPD: Behind the Design... Rihanna

Behind the Design... Rihanna. This short video of how many thumbnails went into one opening spread for W Magazine--threw me back to my days in art school.

Reviving the Love Letter

Last night I finished watching Bright Star. The love story between the poet John Keats and Fanny Brawne. I loved their exchange of love letters and how Fanny would wait anxiously for his letters and read, and re-read every word. In our world of quick email notes and IMs....love letters seem like a distant memory. A clip of the letter exchange here. I also was thinking had I seen this movie or known how rich poetry was during this time, I may have paid better attention in English class!

From the WOW Blog:
"Now, we wonder: Is the art of the love poem and the love letter lost? In this digital day and age, long, hand-written, thoughtful letters – let alone poems – seem so far from our minds as we dash off 160-character texts, e-mails and instant messages on the fly. Everything and everyone seem to be going paperless and, with that, seemingly thoughtless. Is there a chance, however, for a resurgence of interest in the thoughtful, time-consuming written word?"

Last month I also went to see The Young Victoria in the theaters. Again those love letters :-) Words were thought out, letters were kept, saved, and reread over and over.

Liberty of London at Target

Liberty of London line going to be sold at Target starting March 14th! Very excited as this is one of my favorite places to browse in London. It can't compare to actually being in the store, but it will definitley broaden it's fan base. A nice addition to Target's GO International line. I can't wait to shop! Read up on it here.

Olympic Stamps

I can't wait for the Olympics! Two of my loves, the Olympics & Stamps included in this post.

Window Wednesdays: Philadelphia

Had a wonderful weekend in Philadelphia. Ali & Scott took me around town. I discovered some small boutiques and shopped along Walnut Street. Looking forward to heading back there in warmer weather! Was barely able to snap these pictures in the frosty cold & snow!

Lemonade the Film

Has anyone seen Lemonade yet? I first learned about this film from Michelle's blog. She used to work with a friend of mine and is one of the sixteen featured in this film. You may be able to see a screening in a city near you! Chicago & Baltimore screenings are already lined up.

Here is another short clip about the film that was on CBS.

Forever21 windows are starting to feel a bit like Anthropologie (in a good way). I feel like they are taking more risks with their windows these days.
