Window Wednesdays: Mobile Merchandising

Marshalls, Stiletto-Mobile Kick Up, Union Square Event
I stumbled across the Marshalls Stilletto-Mobile Kick Up this week. What a display. And the guys serving shoes--it was too much. I was surprised they set up shop in very busy Union Square. I think the passerby traffic diverted people away from the event not towards it.

Cool Window I saw!

Is Design Still a Boys' Club?

Did you catch the NYTimes article Silent Majority: IS DESIGN STILL A BOYS' CLUB? by Alica Rawsthorn, about female graphic designers? Milton Glaser touched upon this last year when I saw him speak at the 92nd Street Y. He will be speaking this year on November 20th! It's part of the Dialogues with Design Legends: Graphic Design series.

Sujean Rim tshirt for Jones New York

Fashion for a good cause! One of my favorite illustrators, Sujean Rim has designed a tshirt that is being sold at Macy's and 100% of the profits will be donated to Jones New York In The Classroom, a non-profit organization supporting teachers and education.

She does a lot of design work for non-profits and good causes. Check out Sujean's designs for the organization bright pink as well.

Window Wednesdays: Illustrative Touches

Happy Fall-I noticed a fair amount of illustrations this week around town. Saks has illustrations galore in their windows right now. It's all apart of the WANT IT Campaign. The shopping bags are also illustrated masterpieces. Alexandra Compain-Tissier was the illustrator who created the illustrations.

Martha Says...

The Martha Blog is running a contest for a chance to have your blog featured on the Martha Blog. Were you all able to catch her show about bloggers? So interesting! All you need to do is leave a comment and place a link on your site. There doesn't appear to be a deadline, but I recommend adding your comment today. For more information, click here.

While reading the posts & the article about bloggers I remembered it was about this time last year that I was able to attend a show taping. It was eye-opening to see how the show taped, Martha's persona on-and-off screen, and to watch the wonderful guests she had on the show including, Maya Angelou. That interview segment was remarkable.

Really though, I want that craft room & kitchen.

Window Wednesdays: Back to School

Sorry for the delay-was having computer issues yesterday. Chalkboard theme is very much OVERDONE this week! I couldn't believe how many stores used this concept. Way to go AX for using USB cords! I felt like I was back in my college room with cords everywhere!
