Happy 4th of July, Macy's Fireworks
Macy's fireworks will be on Saturday night! Love the typography on this year's posters and signage via Macy's windows.

The HIGHline is HERE
Hoping to head to the newly opened Highline this weekend amongst some other great exhibits. View the design slideshow and drool along with me. Looking forward to seeing it in person. I'm trying to keep my vacation mentality going and continue to soak up some local visuals. July 12th is the TARGET HIGH LINE STREET FESTIVAL. I can't get over how cute the (above illustration) is. I wonder who drew it.

Wedding design advice
{image by adesignaffair}When I returned home from traveling last week I noticed one of my fellow alumns Courtney of designworklife started a new wedding blog called Head vs. Heart (amazing name!). I was like 'no she didn't' 'she did!' 'yay'. Courtney is getting married soon & its a way for her to muse about wedding design like no other wedding blog I have come across yet.
I have a few weddings coming up in 2009/2010 and seem to be the go to for creative wedding advice, especially when choosing a Ketubah. I did some extensive research for my cousin this week and here are a few of my favorites.
1) the ketubah by Stephanie Caplan (by far my favorite)
2) Danny Azoulay Papercuts
3) Ketubah Graphia
4) Aqua Studio
5) New Ketubah
6) Dena Levie's amazing papercut designs
I went to sleepaway camp when I was younger and this time of year always reminds me of my camp days. The Mrs. over at Jewish Wedding Network has been highlighting couples this week who chose to have their big day at a summer camp site. Loving the pictures and stories.
Also stumbled upon Laura Hooper Calligraphy in my searches. Love her style & event maps.
Edible Good Luck Charm!
Thank you Tatyana who sent me over this posting. Seems there is a new product/marketing concept which I can see becoming popular. I enjoy anything these days that is tangible and can arrive in my mailbox. Check out the Kit Kat Mail: A New Edible Good Luck Charm over at psfk. (also seen via trendcentral)

Isabel Toledo: Fashion from the Inside Out
Must go see the Isabel Toledo Fashion exhibit at the FIT museum! I was reminded of it as I was flipping through the NY Times Society party section (see image below). More about the show here. Kinda loving Reuben's fashion illustrations that circle the room. The show is until September 26th.6.19.2009
Baby Strollers Abroad
I became semi-obsessed with the hip baby carriages & strollers I kept seeing on the streets. Not to mention the fashionable men & women pushing them along. Vienna had the best spottings! Some that I was able to remember are listed below. They may be available in the US, but here in NYC everyone is mostly sporting Bugaboos.
Concord Neo (with a free PAPA bag!)
MUSTY Strollers
This Classic Pram by Iglesina!
Some street images I had to capture.

These baby love wooden bead pacificer cords were all the rage. Every baby had one. And they also had wooden block toys hanging from the stroller for the little one to play with. I brought a few back as presents which I purchased from the dm-drogeriemarkt!

Manolo Blahnik for Coca-Cola
While I was away I spotted an article in a foreign design magazine about Manolo Blahnik's Coca-Cola Light bottle. Pictures speak louder than words when you don't understand the language.

Window Wednesdays: Prague Windows and Design
I'm back....after visiting Prague, Vienna, and Budapest I have more than enough visual candy to share with all of you. Here's a recap of some Prague windows, designs, logos & illustrative things that caught my eye around the city. I first spotted these great international Citi ads in the Prague airport. I was intrigued with the linen line of items Green Gate as it looks a lot like Cath Kidson stuff from London. Viva Praha chocolate is amazing & the packaging design was one to capture! You really can find everything online as here is a youtube video of the store!

Window Wednesdays: Traveling at Kate's
Travel-travel-travel over at both Kate's this week! See more below. I am in traveling mode as I leave for a much needed international vacation this week. Looking forward to sharing some design from across the Atlantic with all of you. Check back here on Wednesday, June 17th for some inspiring windows. I'll have some creative posts about the countries I am visiting. Looking forward to soaking up the typography, visuals, packaging, museums, and sites.
Kate Spade
Loving this travel-transit theme over at Kate Spade. The lines run into the store. Also their ideas for local summer events include two of my favorites both a movie in Bryant Park & a cocktail on the roof of the MET. Are there Kate Spade windows in your city with local events? I wonder what Los Angeles says or Chicago...

Kate's Paperie
Kate's Paperie also showing some traveling. Love the journals, silhouettes and city themes.

Macy's
Summer lovin. Yay for summer, and warm fuzzy tie dye themes. Makes me think about camp, not necessarily the 60s.

Pret A Manger
Some coffee bean typography I was lovin' and excited to share.
