Gilt Groupe: Pre-Target Launch

S-C-O-R-E---I snapped up these apple plates today over at Gilt Groupe. How perfect for Rosh Hashanah & Jewish New Year hostess gifts! I'm sad the 3 tier tray sold out already. I will have to find a way to get to Target! Or have my parents pick one up for me in the 'burbs. I know Target in Harlem opened, but it's still a distance away. Definitely check out the collection on Gilt though, you can see up close and personal images of everything that Target will be stocking on September 5th.

Rockabye Baby!

Just grabbed tea with a friend at Starbucks and spotted a limited edition Rockabye Baby Lullaby CD compilation. I was intriqued and just googled to find out more. This is by far my favorite - Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Journey. Amazing stuff. Especially to give as a gift to very 'cool' parents.

Desideri Design

I've been meaning to blog about my favorite jewelry designer, Claudia Desideri, for awhile now. Whenever I wear one of her creations the compliments are endless. You can find her personal website here. I especially like chatting with her when she is in the store at Edge NYC where you can try on and purchase pieces. And yes, these creations below are only a sampling of the jewelry I own of hers!

Boston Weekend Wrap-up

Enjoyed the b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l weekend weather here in Boston. Glad the weather reports were inaccurate, (not a drop of rain) so I was able to enjoy the SOWA Market, SOWA Artist Studios, the SOWA Artist Guild 450, and ICA (Institute of Contemporary Art) Museum.

Some artists I loved---
SOWA Market
Illustrator: Eric Sturtevant
Handmade Goods: TADWorks
450 Harrison
Jeweler: Amy Casher Designs
Milliner: Galvin-ized Headwear
Painter: Rachel von Roeschlaub
SOWA Art Walk
Illustrator/Painter/Muralist: Bren Bataclan

SOWA Market (great illustration on sign)

SOWA Sign (great type & graphics)

Starbucks had some great magnetic tables to interact with, while enjoying complimentary drinks!

Also got to stop by the NEW & FABULOUS store Grand. I read about it on Daily Candy and in Lucky Magazine. Great products, interiors, and the owners are super-friendly.
The ICA building is an architectural gem. I tried to capture the angles and views the space created.

Retail Reading for October

Both Vogue and People Magazine wrote about Deluxe: How Luxury Lost Its Luster, and I'm hoping to get my hands on it soon. I was reminded of both Trading Up and Why We Buy, which I wanted to read while working on a few retail design projects. While I was searching I noticed Barnes & Noble's redesigned website.

Wearable Illustrations

Ruben and Isabel Toledo are at it again. Harper's Bazaar October issue featured this fashionable insight. Both have teamed up to put out this Anne Klein Love World scarf available only at Nordstrom.Jones New York has a new t-shirt out by one of my favorite illustrator's Sujean Rim (of the Daily Candy illustrations). Check out more information about the shirt Jones New York in the Classroom here.

Sujean for Tiffany & Co.

I'm so inspired by Sujean's new illustrations on the Tiffany's website. Best known for her Daily Candy illustrations, these add a personal flair to the company's staple jewelry items. {thanks Caitlin}
