Nordstrom's May 2008 Catalog

Nothing better than to get a catalog in the mail with Ruben Toledo illustrations on the cover! Nordstrom's blog also has some nice Toledo touches. I like the February Nordstrom ads better. When I heard Ruden & Isabel (his wife) speak last year he noted Nordstrom's is one of his favorite clients to work for.

Check out Ruben's sketchbook for MOLESKINE, which was part of a special exhibition of illustrators & designers showing how they use the fabulous books. (I use one also--I mean who doesn't?)

Green Metrocard

Has your Metrocard gone green? I was wondering why NYC Transit had switched out the dark blue for green. Now I know why. In an over-saturated advertised city---this was a more subliminal message.

Funk & Standard is a favorite shop of mine in Red Bank. Urban Outfitters-esk with a small town feel. They send you home with mesh shopping bags.

Lush for Mum's Day

I stopped by LUSH (The Chelsea NYC Store) last weekend and was loving all their gift sets (Especially for Mother's Day). I picked up a great gift for my cousin, who is a new Mommy! (Happy 1st Mother's Day, Margie!) I usually only shop at LUSH in England. After perusing their website to get more ideas I found their England and Canada sites to be the best. Great packaging, witty text, Go LUSH.
